East Belmont FWB Church Offices

 

1.      Assistant Treasurer: Dana Hester and Peggy Sexson Responsible for assisting the treasurer when he or she needs assistance. (Being the assistant does not
mean that the assistant will assume the duties of the treasurer in case of resignation or replacement. This will be decided by the Pastor and Deacons)

 

2.      Church Clerk:  Brandi Downer The clerk will record the minutes of each conference meeting of the church and new memberships.

 

3.      Assistant Church Clerk: Carolyn Mickey Must fill in for the clerk when clerk is not available.

 

4.      Finance Committee:

 

        The following seats will not be voted on for elections:

 

Seat #1: Scottie Stewart Pastor

Seat #2: George Mickey Deacon

Seat #3: Ray Baker Deacon

Seat #4: Marty Sexson and Kevin Elliott Trustees

Seat #5: Terri Kelly Church Treasurer

These seats will stay locked in unless the church grows and we start to add more Deacons to the church. Deacons will be rotated periodically.

The following seats will be voted on every 2 years, so that other members will have a chance to serve on the Finance Committee:

                        Seat #6: Jeff Hester Alternate

                        Seat #7: Mike Sigmon Alternate

    The Finance Committee will also have a secretary position that will also be voted on every year. This position will be a non-voting position in the Finance Committee. This position will be responsible for taking minutes and assisting the Pastor and Treasurer in each meeting.

            New guidelines for the Finance Committee:

A.      There cannot be two people from the same household (living under the same roof) serving on the committee as voting delegates. The only way two persons from the same household can serve is if one is a voting delegate and the other is a non-voting delegate (secretary).

B.      You must have a desire to see the church go forward, and not go backwards.

C.      You must be honest and of a good report.

1.      You can be replaced at any time during the years you are serving if the Pastor and the Deacons feel like you are not living or showing a Christian conduct.

2.      If there is a conflict or problem on the Finance Committee, the Pastor and the Deacons will resolve the problem.

 

5.      Special Purchases: Sheila Stewart  and  Terri Kelly This office has 2 people in it who are responsible for purchasing flowers and gifts for special occasions. They also purchase supplies for the church.

 

6.      Choir Director: Sheila Stewart This person is responsible for choosing the songs the choir performs during services, arranges choir practices, and handles anything that has to do with the choir. All musicians will report to the choir director. The choir director has the final say in the music department.

 

7.      Assistant Choir Director: Katherine Elliott Assists the choir director when they need help. This person also fills in when choir director is absent or cannot perform the role as choir director.

 

8.      Sound System Manager: Marty Sexson This person is in charge of all sound equipment. They take care and maintain the music system.

 

9.      Assistant Sound System Managers: Ron Downer Assist and fill in for the Sound System Manager when needed.

 

10.  Youth Committee: Robin Smith, Terri Kelly, Jeff Hester, Ron Downer Responsible for planning youth outings and activities that will be approved by the Pastor.

 

11.  Funeral Food Director: Sheila Stewart Responsible for the food at all funerals

 

12.  Assistant Funeral Food Director: Sandra Sides, Lucy Glenn, Shirley Harkey Assist or fill in for the Funeral Food Director as needed

 

13.  Ushers: Jeff Hester, Kevin Elliott Responsible for taking up the offerings each service.

      Assistant ushers: Ron Downer

 

14.  Church Custodian: Ray Baker Maintains the care and appearance of the church. Takes out trash when needed, checks and replaces air filters, maintains restroom operation.

 

15.  Piano Player: Connie Gordon Plays piano for all services and informs the Pastor when the piano needs service. Reports to Choir Director.
