What God Hates!
Proverbs 6:16-19

Intro: Hate in the Hebrew means hate, to hate, personally hate. God hates all sin, but there are some sins which He hates in a special manner. All these sins in this section are injurious to our neighbor or brother. Let us look to see what God hates.

1. A Proud look: vs. 17

A. pride in cp.18 vs. 13 is mentioned with arrogance
B. it is an abomination cp. 16 vs. 5
C. it is a sin cp. 21 vs. 4
D. Isaiah 14:12-14 describes a proud look

2. A Lying tongue: vs. 17

A. an untruth, a sham, deceit, false
B. a lying tongue comes from a deceitful heart
C. cp. 10:18 say it comes from a fool
D. where it comes from John 8:44

3. Hands that shed innocent blood: vs. 17

A. Genesis 4:1-11 Cain is an example of this

4. Heart that deviseth wicked imaginations: vs. 18

A. innocent blood shed comes from this
B. this brought fourth the flood Genesis 6:5

5. Feet that be swift in running to mischief: vs. 18

A. fast to get into trouble

6. A false witness: vs. 19

A. witness= testimony
B. living a lie

7. He that sows discord among brethern: vs. 19

A. discord means strife

Conclusion: These are the things God especially hates. Ask yourself the question Am I doing something God hates? And if God hates these things so should we.
