The Life of Moses
Exodus 2:1-10

* In chapter 1 we see how the children of Israel were afflicted by the Egyptians. The had taskmasters over them to build treasured cities for Pharaoh. They needed a deliverer to lead them out of bondage. Just like with our lost loved ones, they need a Moses to lead them out. Let us look to the life of Moses.

1. M=Mother vs. 1-3

A. She hid Moses from Pharaoh ( type of the devil) she didn’t expose Moses to the world
B. She put him in an ark, in other words she put him in the Lords hands

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

2. O=Oppression vs. 11

A. He saw the burdens of his brethren (do you see the burdens of your family?)
B. vs. 15 Pharaoh sought to kill him (the devil wants to kill you)

Galations 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3. S=Shoes 3 vs 5

A. God told him to remove his shoes (we need to remove things from between us and God)
B. God wanted Moses to walk closer (are you walking close to the Lord?)

Psalms 56:13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

4. E=Exodus 3 vs 10-14

A. Exodus means exit, or leaving
B. God wanted Moses to lead his people out by leaving Egypt
C. Before you will ever lead anyone out of Egypt, you have to have forsaken Egypt.

Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

5. S=Servant 3 vs 12

A. Moses served God and his people
B. He was constantly falling on his face before God on the behalf of his people

Romans 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Conclusion: God will always send a Moses, will you or are you that Moses to lead your people out?
