Is it Right or Wrong?

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Romans 14:23

* Many have asked the question is right or wrong about something. First of all if you have to ask a Preacher, 99% of the time it is wrong. If there is doubt, it could be wrong. Let us look to the bible to let it have the final say.

1. Can you do it for the glory of God? If not, it’s wrong!

• 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

2. Is it a stumbling block to others? If it is, it’s wrong!

• 1 Corinthians 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbingblock to them that are weak.

3. Does it have the appearance of evil? If it does, it’s wrong!

• 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

4. Can you do it when you remember that the Holy Spirit dwells in you? If not, it’s wrong!

• 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

5. Can you thank Jesus for it? If not, it’s wrong!

• Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

6. Is it a weight? If it is, it’s wrong!

• Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

7. When Jesus comes again, would you like to be found doing it? If not, it’s wrong!

• 1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming

Conclusion: Don’t be concerned about doing what is right in your eyes, but my friend, be concerned about doing right in the sight of God.
